Chiaroscuro is an artistic technique, developed during the Renaissance, that uses strong tonal contrasts between light and dark to model three-dimensional forms. The clash between light and darkness, good and evil, buries strong archetypal associations that have effectively shaped the course of humanity over the centuries. This spiritual struggle, still very much alive today, has been the source of inspiration for this work.
The piece is dedicated to my brother, and best friend, George Antoniades.
